Organized by the Embedded France Association, the 2023 edition of the Assises de l’Embarqué was held once again on January 17 at the Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty in Bercy (France).

Organisées par l’Association Embedded France, l’édition 2023 des Assises de l’Embarqué se tenait le 17 janvier dernier une nouvelle fois à Bercy au Ministère de l’Economie, des Finances et de la Souveraineté Industrielle et Numérique.

Edge Computing challenges and opportunities

This was the main topic of this year’s event, echoing the work group initiated in early 2022 and led by Eliane Fourgeau (Quantyss) and Frédéric Desbiens (Eclipse Foundation).

Edge Computing are operational realities (see testimonials from Vitirover, Liebherr, Delair and Nokia), as well as issues of sovereignty and security.

These technological challenges were illustrated by representatives from the automotive industry (Renault, Atos, Valeo, Software Republic). In addition, the energy dimension was discussed, both in terms of on-board systems and the cloud. As Katrin Matthes (CTO Renault Software Factory) pointed out, a vehicle contains 200 million lines of code, rising to 600  million by 2025.

WedoLow, a finalist in the Trophées de l’Embarqué 2023 competition

We were delighted to be among the 14 nominees for the Trophées 2023. It was an opportunity for Justine Bonnot to pitch to the attendees on site or in front of their screens, and to present the ambitions of WedoLow (ex-Yubik) and our mission to work alongside development teams, enabling them to design software applications optimized for their specific needs.
